Wang Chao, born in August 1985, is an Associate Prof. of School of Computer Science and Technology and the Deputy Dean of School of Software Engineering of the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC). He obtained his B.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the School of Computer Science, USTC in 2006 and 2011 respectively. From 2015 to 2016, he was a visiting scholar at the University of California, Santa Barbara, USA. 

Currently, he is a senior member of IEEE, a senior member of ACM, a senior member of CCF, a member of CCF ACA, a member of Youth Innovation Promotion Association of CAS, a Director of Jiangsu Institute of Electronics, and a member of ACM Transactions on Design Automations for Electronics Systems, and an Associate Director of IEEE and other international journals. He has chaired many national and provincial research projects, such as National Natural Science Foundation of China, sub-projects of National Key Research and Development Program, major special projects for installation and development, and CAS pioneering sub-projects. He has published more than 100 papers in high-level academic journals and conferences such as TPDS, TC, TCAD, MICRO, and RTSS. He has published two academic works in English and participated in the development of intelligent computing systems based on domestic smart chips. Many of related achievements have been applied in the industry. He was awarded the Outstanding Instructor Award of the National Undergraduate Computer System Competency Development Competition, ACM China Rising Star Nomination Award (four in total nationwide), DATE International Conference Best IP Nomination, Nomination for the Best Paper at CODES+ISSS International Conference, Wang Kuan Cheng Education Award, and Excellence Award of Tencent Hornbill Fund.
