Wang Yang, born in April 1980, is an Associate Professor, Deputy Dean of School of Software Engineering of the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC), a member of CCF TCIoT and a recipient of Anhui Province Outstanding Young Scientists Fund. He obtained his BS degree in Department of Computer Science of USTC in 2002 and a PhD degree in Computer Applied Technology in 2007. His research fields involve Internet of Things, Telematics and Intelligent Transportation, and Distributed Computing. In recent years, he has chaired more than 30 projects including 2 NSF surface projects, 1 NSF youth project and 2 CNGI projects of NDRC; as the core technical backbone, he has participated in 2 NSF key projects, 2 National 973 projects, 1 National 863 project, 3 National Science and Technology Major Projects He has participated in nearly 30 projects including 2 key projects of National Natural Science Foundation of China, 2 national 973 projects, 1 national 863 project, 3 National Science and Technology Major Projects, 1 special project in Internet of Things of National Development and Reform Commission, 2 CNGI special projects of National Development and Reform Commission, and 1 Knowledge Innovation Program of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. In the fields of networking, systems and data mining, he has published nearly 100 papers in top international conferences and journals, including Mobicom, AAAI, IJCAI, Ubicomp, Infocom, ICDCS, IwQOS, Sensys, ICDM, and SECON. In the past 5 years, he has published 21 top papers as the first/corresponding author in CCF Tier A/B and SCI Tier 1 or above (including 11 papers in CCF Tier A and SCI Tier 1). He was awarded the 2017 IBM Faculty Award for his outstanding research in Telematics and Urban Computing.
