On December 26, 2024, Liu Hua, Deputy Secretary of CPC Working Committee and Deputy Director of Suzhou Industrial Park (SIP), along with her delegation, visited SIAR for research.
Chu Jiaru, Special Assistant to the President of the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC), Executive Director of SIAR, Tu Jing, member of the Party Committee of SIAR, Mr. Wu Huihui, Deputy Director of the Administrative Committee of Suzhou Dushu Lake Science and Education Innovation District, and related staffs participated in the meeting. The meeting was chaired by Chu Jiaru.
At the meeting, Chu Jiaru welcomed the visit of Liu Hua and her delegation. He briefly introduced the international exchanges between USTC and Australia in the past two years, in which the inter-university cooperation with the University of Queensland (UQ) has made certain progress.
He said that relying on the strong scientific research strength of the two universities in the fields of bio medicine and nano technology, the two sides will cultivate a number of innovative international talents, and strive to create a demonstration effect of talent cultivation in the fields of biomedicine and nanomaterials; Additionally, they will promote inter-university research collaboration to facilitate educational, technological, and cultural exchanges between China and Australia.
Liu Hua expressed her affirmation and support for the international cooperation projects between USTC and UQ, and looked forward to the combination of the two universities, giving full play to the capabilities of both sides in the cultivation of high-end talents, as well as the advantages in the integration of industry, academia and research, and expanding the cooperation to a wider and deeper level.
Liu Yaqian, Foreign Affairs Secretary of SIAR, introduced the progress and plan of cooperation with UQ.
Both parties engaged in discussions regarding the cooperation with UQ.
