In January 2024, Prof. S.Kevin Zhou, Executive Dean of School of Biomedical Engineering and Director of the Center for Medical Imaging, Robotics, Analytic Computing and Learning (MIRACLE), SIAR, USTC, was elected as Co-Chairman of Medical Image Computing and Computer Assisted Intervention 2026 (MICCAI 2026).
As an encomium of his academic achievements, it marks the growing influence of the School of Biomedical Engineering in the international field of medical image computing. Expected to bring more international opportunities for USTC and enable USTCers to enhance academic communication in the international community, it will also push the School onto the way of studying environmental impacts and sustainability, contributing to human life and health as well as global sustainable development.

MICCAI 2026 - a New Chapter in Medical Image Computing in Hawaii
MICCAI 2026 will be held between September 27 and October 1, 2026 in beautiful Honolulu, Hawaii, USA. Continuing on MICCAI’s mission to discuss research advances and future trends in the field of medical image computing and computer-aided interventions, MICCAI 2026 will focus on the environmental impact of our collective research and its sustainability as applications-at-scale are deployed. Topics will be explored through both academic and industry translation lenses in keynote sessions, fireside chats and an increased emphasis on the Satellite Program.
