On the afternoon of April 11, an online conference was held at SIAR discussing the construction of the national health care big data innovation and application demonstration platform. The conference was attended by Yang Aiping, director of the National Health Commission Capacity Building and Continuing Education Center, Ma Zhaoyi, director of the Big Data Office, Chen Li, director of the Administrative Committee of Dushu Lake Science & Education Innovation Zone (DLSEIZ), Wu Huihui, deputy director of the Administrative Committee of DLSEIZ, Chu Jiaru, member of the Standing Committee of the USTC Party Committee and executive director of SIAR, Li Jun, director of the Technology Transfer Office of SIAR, and Zhou Shaohua, executive director of the School of Biomedical Engineering.

Ma Zhaoyi introduced the efforts made by the National Health Commission in the construction and application of the national medical standard database. He stressed on the necessity and importance of building the national health care big data platform. Zhou Shaohua, the project leader of the Suzhou platform, briefed the attendants on the construction design of the big data platform in Suzhou.

In the discussion session, Chen Li introduced the industrial development and sci-tech innovation of Suzhou Industrial Park, and welcomed the big data platform to be built at SIAR on behalf of the Suzhou government.

Chu Jiaru gave a detailed presentation on the discipline layout and development of USTC and SIAR. He said that USTC has extensive experience in building major scientific infrastructure platforms so as to guarantee the construction of this big data platform project at SIAR.

Yang Aiping acknowledged the great support provided by Suzhou government and SIAR, and conceived that the innovation base and industrial ecology in Suzhou can guarantee the construction and development of the platform. He stressed that the three parties should cooperate with each other to accelerate the construction and application of this platform, and carry out this project that benefits people’s life and health in a solid manner.
