To better follow the trend of postgraduate education in the new era and build a high-caliber faculty consisting of postgraduate supervisors, on December 20 and 21, over ten new postgraduate supervisors attended the online training seminar held by the Graduate School. Executive Dean of SIAR, CHU Jiaru, Vice Deans of SIAR, TU Jing, NI Rui and SHEN Yan, attended the seminar and had an in-depth exchange with new supervisors. At the seminar, SHU Gequn, Secretary of the CPC Committee of USTC, WU Meifang, Director of the Party School of the Anhui Provincial Committee of CPC, SHEN Kexiang, Director of Mental Health Education and Consultation Center, Academician CHEN Xianhui, addressed new supervisors. And then GONG Liuzhu, Executive Vice Dean of the Graduate School, YAO Huajian, Vice Dean and WAN Hongying, Director of Academic Affairs Office gave introduction to supervisors’ work. In the end, CHU Jiaru highly affirmed the significance of this seminar, and required all the supervisors to deepen their understanding, raise their awareness of vocational ethics, rules and overall picture, devote themselves to the development of disciplines and SIAR, and constantly improve the quality of postgraduate education.

On December 22, Prof. PAN Tingrui lectured on this semina's theme, discussing with one another how to become a qualified postgraduate supervisor from the aspects of student enrollment, management and cultivation.

All the new supervisors cherished the training opportunity, which deepened their understanding, organized their thoughts, and identified their work emphasis. Next, they will apply what they have learned and adopt better approaches in the work of postgraduate education.
