Suzhou Dushu Lake Library, combined the former Suzhou Dushu Lake Library and the Main Library of Suzhou Industrial Park Public Library, is located by the beautiful Dushu Lake and opened on June 8, 2005. Affiliated to Suzhou Industrial Park Public Culture Center, it is a modern and innovative library with a building area of 24,123 square meters, integrating the functions of public library, university library, and information institute. The main library has 13 reading rooms for different categories including social science, literature and arts, science and technology, youth reading, electronics, and famous authors and literature, as well as study space with more than 500 seats. The Library homes about 1.35 million paper books, over 3,280 paper periodicals, 1.58 million electronic books, and 23 professional databases.
